Amanda Willoughby encompasses everything it means to be a visual artist. She’s a filmmaker, director, producer, and artist. Amanda’s passion can mostly be seen in both her work as an instructor and youth mentor. Her mission: to shape the next generation of Memphis based filmmakers.

Her work has earned her a membership of the 2019 Memphis Flyer’s 20 under 30, featured in the Smithsonian Magazine, and on ABC24’s Local Memphis Live. She’s co-owner of Not Your Ordinary Films – a production company focused on telling stories of underrepresented people. Amanda also serves as a Lead Video Instructor at CLOUD901 – a STEM education lab for teens pursuing music, art, tech, and filmmaking. When she’s not doing that, she works as the Youth Mentor Program Coordinator for Indie Memphis, connecting young people with professionals in the filmmaking industry.

With all these endeavors, she still finds time to appear on WMC Action News 5’s Bluff City Life to teach plant parenthood. Did I mention she’s also a painter? She creates beautifully vibrant, yet simplistic artwork that still leaves you wowed.
