The 2022 World Championship Hot Wing Contest & Festival will take place Saturday, October 22(11 a.m. – 7 p.m.) at Tiger Lane, on the grounds of the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, TN. This WCHWCF will mark the 20th year of the festival, previously known as the Southern Hot Wing Festival, and now attracts international teams from Canada, Costa Rica, South Africa, and other parts of the world.

The event is expected to have more than 100 teams competing this year for the coveted title of Hot Wing World Champion

Whether you like your wings grilled, smoked or fried, with seasonings that range from sweet to savory to exotic, there’s sure to be something for everyone. The annual contest kicks off at 11 a.m. when the Memphis Second Line Jazz Band will lead a flock of chickens in a parade through Tiger Lane and across the main stage to the tune of “When the Saints go Marching in.”

Festival-goers will not only have a fun time sampling the competition’s fare, they will also have “something to crow about” as they will be making a contribution to The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis (RMH). To date WCHWCF has raised over $300K for RMH. We hope the public will help us assist the families and children who live at the facility, at no cost, after treatment from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This mission allows the families to focus on helping their children survive and thrive.

The WCHWCF also includes fun, family friendly activities such as the Kids Korner, the popular Corn Hole Tournament, and the Wing Eating Contest. Musical acts will perform on the Main Stage throughout the event.
